Rounds 5 , 6 & 7 of the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK took place at Brands Hatch in Kent on Saturday & Sunday, and Max Hart went into the weekend second in the championship as well as carrying twice as must success ballast (120Kg) compared to the rest of the grid for qualifying and all three races.
Max qualified his Maximum Motorsport Hyundai i30 N TCR on the second row with the fourth fastest time.
Race 1: Despite his success ballast, Max made a good start to consolidate his fourth position, however starting lap 3 Max made a great move to challenge for third place and got fully alongside his rival only to be pushed off in a controversial incident which ended Max’s race.
Race 2: As Max retired from race 1, he had to start from the back of the grid, but drove a highly impressive race to work his way through the traffic to finish in sixth position, and collect some valuable points.
Race 3: Max started in third position and enjoyed a race long duel with race winner Bradley Kent to finish in second place 0.180 seconds behind.
After a very trying weekend Max is now in third place in the championship only one point behind second. The next 2 rounds of the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK are at Oulton Park on July 17th.
